1. Site owner

  • Owner: Alberto Quintin Navarro
  • Email: the one shown as “Contact” in the footer, which is the means of direct and effective communication with the owner.
  • Activity: development and free distribution of the Luft desktop application and of this informational website. No economic activity: nothing is sold, there is no advertising, no donations are solicited and no paid service is provided. The owner is not listed in any commercial register nor subject to prior administrative authorisation.

2. Purpose

This site presents the Luft application, offers its download for Windows, macOS and Linux, a chess games database and the notes for each release. Use of the application is governed by its licence agreement; the processing of personal data by the privacy policy.

3. Intellectual and industrial property

The design of this site, its texts, the logo and the Luft application are the owner’s work and are protected by intellectual property law. Viewing, downloading and printing the site’s contents for personal use is allowed; reproducing, distributing or transforming them for commercial purposes without permission is not.

“Luft” is the trade name of the application. [Replace when applicable: “Luft is a trade mark pending/registered at the OEPM/EUIPO no. …”. Until verified, do not use ® or “registered trade mark”.]

4. Third-party software and resources

The Luft application uses open-source components credited in its “About” dialog. This site uses:

  • The Inter typeface by Rasmus Andersson — SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Icons from Font Awesome Free — CC BY 4.0 (brand icons) and Lucide — ISC licence.
  • Tux, the Linux penguin, by Larry Ewing ([email protected]), created with GIMP.

Windows is a trade mark of Microsoft Corporation; Apple, Mac and macOS are trade marks of Apple Inc.; Linux is a trade mark of Linus Torvalds. They are named, and their icons shown, solely to identify the platform each download is offered for; there is no relationship, sponsorship or endorsement by their owners.

5. Games database

The downloadable database is made of games from the Lichess open database (Creative Commons CC0 1.0 licence) and from game collections published under an open licence or in the public domain, processed and deduplicated by the owner. The moves of a chess game are not subject to copyright; the resulting .luftdb file is offered under the same open terms as its sources, with attribution.

The site links to third-party services (download repository on GitHub, sources of the database, VirusTotal analysis of the download). The owner does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability or privacy policies, which you should read before using them.

7. Liability

The owner endeavours to keep the site’s information correct and up to date but does not guarantee the absence of errors or the uninterrupted availability of the site or the downloads. The Luft application is distributed free of charge “as is”, with the warranty exclusions and liability limitations set out in its licence agreement. Verifying each download against the published SHA-256 checksum is recommended.

8. Governing law

This notice is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of the owner’s domicile, unless the user is a consumer, in which case the courts of the user’s own domicile are also available. Should the Spanish and English versions of this site’s legal texts differ, the Spanish version prevails.
